Target recently made some new changes and clarifications to their coupon policy. My local Target has recently been limiting the number of “like” products to 4 so that store shelves are not cleared by one person. (This is new and may vary from store to store)
The Target Coupon Policy is pretty coupon user friendly because they accept one store coupon with one manufacture coupon maximizing your savings in their stores.
Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
Target will not give cash back and may reduce the value of the coupon if the price of the product is less than the coupon face value even though will be reimbursed for the full face value of the coupon.
We gladly accept valid internet coupons that contain a clear and scannable bar code. We do not accept internet coupons for free items with no purchase requirements.
Target (all along with many other stores) have been cracking down on the use of printable coupons and now no longer accept coupons that are free products without the purchase of another product. A lot of companies are changing how these free manufacture coupons are available to us and now are mailing these coupons to our homes.
Guests can receive Target Mobile Coupons by signing up for Text Alerts at Target.com/mobile or by texting COUPONS to 827438 (TARGET).
The Target Mobile Coupons are a great way to also stretch your budget and can be stacked with manufacture printable or insert coupons.
BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.
A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.
- If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon maybe used on the first item.
- If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.
This is where their coupon policy has changed the most. You can no longer stack a BOGO sale with a BOGO manufacture coupon to get both items for free. You can no longer use a cents off manufacture coupon for the first item. If you are using a Target BOGO coupon, you can still stack a manufacture cents off coupon for the first item and same with at Manufacture BOGO coupon and a Target cents off coupon. If the coupon clearly states that no other offers can be combined with the coupon, you can not stack the coupon. Target does not accept competitor coupons or expired coupons.
The changes to the Target Coupon Policy have not been drastic, but they still have changed their policy since the show aired. We can still get amazing deals @ Target with legitimate coupons matched up with their sales each week to stretch our budgets. With stacking a manufacture coupon and a store coupon, you are sure to be able to snag some free and dirt cheap products each time you shop in their stores. Make sure to print a copy of the Target Coupon Policy and carry it with you.
Stay tuned tomorrow when we cover the new Walmart Coupon Policy.

I am confused about the bogo thing – are they saying that if they have an item on sale in the store for b1g1free…and there is a manuf coupon in the sunday paper for 25cents off… that you can not use that coupon on that 1st item.??? I can see why they wouldnt allow the b1g1 and bogo coupon… …what about if you get 3 of that item? can u use a bogo then?
Ex: Shampoo – b1g1 sale in store… u have b1g1 coupon… can you get 3 of them…since you are still buying 1 to get the 2 free?
According to the Target coupon policy, you are no longer allowed to stack a buy 1, get 1 coupon with another buy 1, get 1 sale or store coupon at all, so even with the option of buying 3 items, you can not do the bogo w/ another bogo at all to even get 2 free.
hmmm, maybe ill just try it sometime… and have a 4th as a back up!
lol… Hey, not like I use too many of the b1g1 coupons… because i never seem to catch the right times. Im just excited when i can save a couple bucks on a huge purchase.
According to what was on Yahoo this morning, is it true that now Target will not allow any stacking? Or might this just be up and coming? If so, TLC seriously did us no favors with their show. This will truly be a punch in the pocketbook. BOO.
I have not had a chance to double check with my local Target to verify that this is true, but from what I understood of the article, it was just the BOGO store sale with a BOGO manufacture coupon that could not be stacked. If it is true that they will no longer be stacking, I will definitely be updating you guys about it. Thanks for pointing out this article to me and I will be sure to double check for you!
