Day 18 Topic: Raising A Simple Family

Raising a simple family means that I am constantly on top making sure that the kids realize that they don’t have to keep everything and they don’t need the latest and greatest toy.  So over the years we have been trying our hardest to teach our kids that living a simple life is far better than trying to live outside of our means.  Check out some of the ways below that we are teaching our kids to live simple:

Ways we have been teaching our kids to live simply

  • Earning a small allowance each week for chores so they learn the value of a dollar and that nothing is life is free
  • Rotating and passing down toys to others
  • Teaching our kids to save by repurposing items that we already have
  • Having them help purge through their room to rid their lives of clutter so they learn limits

How are you helping in raising your family to live simply?

About the Simple Living Challenge:

During the month of February, I am joining Melissa with Living A Frugal Life to do the Simple Living Challenge.  The Simple Living Challenge is a month long adventure that will help both me and you learn how to live simply!  I will be sharing what I think simple living is and how I am living simply through tips, pics, and even videos.
