Day 15: Simple Living Challenge – Home Management
Day 15 Topic: Home Management
In order to keep up with everything going on in our house from family appointments, school events, kids outside school functions, blog events, project deadlines and everything in between I had to find a way to simplify everything so it was all in one place. That’s where my household binder came into the picture!
Calendar: 3-hole punched for binders and was purchased at Walmart, but the dollar stores generally have these also. You can also get printable monthly calendars online.
Cleaning To Do List: List of each room and what needs to be done weekly to maintain our household
Weekly Meal Planner: Plan your menu for the week
Weekly Planner: Gives you a at a glance weekly list of events and any upcoming events to remember or add to monthly calendar.
Grocery List: Run out of something while your cooking dinner, add it to your list and your ready for your weekly shopping trip
Shopping List: 2 shopping lists per page
Lined Paper: To jot down notes, send a note to the school, etc.
To cut the cost of ink and paper, each of these are in sheet protectors and an erasable marker so that I can reuse them each week. At the back of the binder, I have more sheet protectors that have my husbands school transcripts, resume, kids medical docs, school docs for their grade level, and Smile Safe Kids cards in case they are needed in an emergency.
Feel free to print the documents (all PDFs) above and create your own home management binder today!

I use a dry erase calendar board..I literally mean “I”, as my husband doesn’t look at it. It’s right by the main door in the kitchen too..lol..At least I know what’s on there so I can remind my husband of things..I used to have little papers with scribbles stuck to the fridge but that was usually a waste of energy..My family is not too busy, but the calendar helps so much with the little things that may otherwise be forgotten..
Thanks for sharing Michele! I have tried the erase calendar board in a cabinet before and none of the family seemed to realize it even existed. The binder works great for us, but there are still times when they forget that it even exists also. So I’m still the walking calendar that reminds everyone that something is going on that day…lol!
