Coupon myths are a dime a dozen. The problem with these myths is that they are often inaccurate and are good at scaring people off from using coupons to save some serious money! I used to think that each of these myths was true until I took the plunge and started saving serious money with these little pieces of clipped paper. These myths may scare you and this could be why you haven’t take the plunge, but let me tell you my success story. My family of 4 used to spend $400-$500 a month on groceries alone. These days those little pieces of paper have dropped my grocery budget down to $200-$250 a month, including all groceries, personal, cleaning, & pet products.
Myth 1: Coupons are too time consuming to even think about using.
Fact: There are many ways to cut the time spent on clipping coupons so saying that it is not so time consuming. There are actually coupon clipping services or even Ebay that offer coupons clipped for you and take all the time out of clipping completely. Another great option is to only clip the coupons that you need when you are heading out to the store which should only take about 10 minutes and could save you a significant percentage off your total!
Myth 2: Coupons are generally not offered for products that I usually buy.
Fact: Companies know how to advertise products so that each and every one of us become brand loyal. Using coupons allows us to break down those barriers and try new products at rock bottom prices. Coupons are offered for a wide variety of products including: shampoo, toothpaste, soup, organic products, cleaning supplies, etc. And the best part is that most of the time, you can get these items absolutely FREE!
Myth 3: Coupons are only for processed food.
Fact: It is true that there are coupons for processed food that come out. There are also tons of coupons for milk, yogurt, frozen vegetables, canned vegetables, meat, and even eggs that come out on a regular basis. There are also many different sites to print coupons for organic products and other grocery coupons offers.
