2012 Souper Bowl of Caring
Help fight hunger with the Souper Bowl of Caring. Kroger has teamed up with H-E-B and Randalls, the Houston Texans, local media outlets, and community and civic leaders to fight hunger through the Souper Bowl of Caring campaign. Souper Bowl of Caring is the largest food drive in Texas and it utilizes Super Bowl weekend to mobilize thousands of youth to fight hunger and poverty in their neighborhoods.
From now through Super Bowl Sunday, February 5, visit any Kroger, H-E-B or Randalls in the area and either make a cash donation at the register or purchase a specially-marked bag to donate that contains non-perishable foods. Majority of the proceeds will benefit the Houston Food Bank and its agency partners.
While I was at my local H-E-B the other day, they cashiers kept hooting, hollaring and clapping. I was trying to figure it out and then I realized every time that they either got a donation or someone purchased a specially-marked bag, it was their celebration. So I got in on the action and made a cash donation to help! It feels good to give back, how do you give back to others?
Additionally, there are several volunteer opportunities available. This is a wonderful chance for any children you may have or know to lend their time. To learn more visit: Souper Bowl of Caring, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. (photo credit: Souper Bowl of Caring)
